Karuza Lab

Join Our Lab

Graduate Students

Our lab is growing! We are currently recruiting graduate students and a post-doctoral fellow. Potential applicants (for both positions) are encouraged to email Dr. Karuza. Prospective graduate students can read more about the application process on the Pysch website.

Undergraduate Research Assistants

We are always looking for highly motivated and curious undergraduate research assistants to join the lab. We do interdisciplinary work, so we encourage students from a variety of academic backgrounds (e.g., psychology, linguistics, communication sciences and disorders, computer science, physics) to apply. Students have the option to earn course credit by assisting with research in the lab for 8-10 hours per week (3 credits). They may also volunteer for a minimum of 5 hours per week. Some paid positions may be available over the summer.

Participate in an Experiment

We primarily recruit participants through the Department of Psychology subject pool. Typically, students earn course credit for participating in behavioral studies run on a computer.

Experiments can last anywhere from 15 minutes to 1 hour. Participants in neuroimaging experiments are compensated financially. Those experiments usually take a bit longer, anywhere from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.

If you are interested in becoming a participant, or you have any questions about the process of participating in an experiment, please contact our lab manager, .

You can also use Penn State’s Study Finder tool to find a study that best fits your needs.
